Taking your eyes off the road in order to change lanes has always been part of the driving experience. But with tech companies doing everything they can to make our lives simpler and safer, it was only a matter of time before they set their sights on the humble vehicle wing mirror.
The numbers are growing, but there’s more work to be done to get women into trucking. Speaking ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March, Ellen Voie, president and CEO of the Women in Trucking Association, said: “There are more women, just not enough.”
You don’t need me to remind you that in the age of automation, jobs are at risk. One of the consequences of our increasing reliance on technology is the displacement of human workers. But while this may be an unavoidable part of our digital age, it doesn’t have to be the end of your trucking career.
