This is the new DAF XF, XG and XG+ line-up of trucks.
The truck maker says the offerings will deliver a full suite of active and passive safety features and help to deliver the ‘next level in luxury for truck design’.
They also are 10% more fuel-efficient than the models they replace.
DAF has revealed that the new generation will begin production in October with the aim of meeting new regulations from the European Union.
The new offering is the first from a European truck maker to deliver an aerodynamic design for class-leading efficiency and a boost in driver safety and comfort.
First generation of the XF
The first generation of the XF was unveiled in 1997 and it has been a popular choice since then.
Indeed, the firm has shifted more than 650,000 XF trucks to a range of delighted customers in 50 countries.
Over the years, various XF generations have picked up the ‘International Truck of the Year’ award.
The new generation of XF delivers a brand-new cab design and the truck delivers the lowest CO2 emissions with the highest energy efficiencies.
In combination with an ultra-low beltline and large windscreen, the driver gets to enjoy unmatched direct vision and there’s a boost to safety, particularly for other vulnerable road users.
New DAF XG and XG+
Alongside the new XF is the new DAF XG and XG+.
The new cabs for these trucks will deliver an ‘unmatched area to work, as well as sleep and live in’.
The new cab is 125mm higher than the XF with three steps and a great driver’s seated position for direct vision.
DAF says that they knew XG+ will outperform every truck currently on sale when it comes to interior space.
The roof height has been increased to offer a standing height of up to 2,220mm.
Again, there’s lots of space and impressive living comfort with a cab size of 12.5 m³.
That’s around 40% more volume than the industry’s benchmark.
Trucks meet exacting standards
DAF says that its new generation of trucks have undergone 20 million km of reliability, durability and functionality testing with customers to ensure the trucks meet exacting standards.
Also, only the finest materials have been used for the truck’s construction with high strength, lightweight steel for the cab structure which also features leather and premium soft-touch materials in the interior.
The new trucks will meet the objectives for the EU’s Masses and Dimensions regulations and will deliver a new industry benchmark for efficiencies in driver safety.
The new DAF XF, XG and XG+ look set to begin production with 4×2 and 6×2 rigid and tractor offerings.
