Key Account Manager/ Logistics
My Client are a leading Logistics company and are now looking for an experienced account manager to join them – looking after one of their prestigious clients, working out of their Ely depot but maybe opportunity to work remotely.
Core Objectives
Responsibility for the management of Account and Operations for major account at the Ely warehouse.
The core objective, includes, but is not restricted to:
Acting as their representative and operational, communication and coordinating link between the client and the warehouse operational 3rd party and transport operators (multi companies), and, providing an efficient logistics and transport support operations and service whilst maintaining high levels of service, performance, value and profitability against pre-agreed targets.
Main Tasks/Duties & Responsibilities to Principal Client and 3rd Parties:
Manage and maintain the high-level administrative and operational relationship between our clients and their client on-site management at all levels.
Provide operational support and service to the client’s nominated 3rd party warehouse operator
Manage the coordination, performance and maintenance of nominated logistics providers to meet the clients transport requirements
Maintain responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related legal/statutory, regulations, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations, including insurance and CPC requirements and retention of the relevant records and documentation to support actions taken in accordance with such requirements
Collate, maintain and monitor, all key daily Replenishment reports ensuring all logistics and transportation requirements are met in accordance with the client forecasted and projected volumes
Ensure all job boards” Job Boards” are maintained on a daily basis in order to record ALL driver and vehicle movements and to assist in the reconciliation and invoicing of services provided and costs involved
Main Tasks/Duties &Responsibilities
Responsibility to adhere to financial planning, budgets and plan to maximise profitability
Develop new initiatives and look for new ways to create greater efficiencies and optimise their Logistics service offering to its clients. contribute to training and development of the wider team and organisation as a whole,assist in achieving maximum “customer/client” satisfaction in accordance with organisation plans
Day to Day Responsibilities
(in conjunction, or in addition, to the core responsibilities, and agreed with your line manager to include:)
Manage and maintain the high-level administrative and operational relationship between our client and their clients on-site management at all levels. Day to day tasks such as replenishment report monitoring and collation, volume planning, transport resource allocation and management and compilation of “Job Boards”
Effective liaison, including communication and escalations as required and support and assistance with the whole of the organisation, client base and 3rd parties maintain and improve mechanisms for the operation of the transport, including surveying and measuring the satisfaction with the client and 3rd parties and disseminate feedback to the appropriate internal entities utilise extant internal and client-based technology systems to manage the required administrative and operations, servicing, analysis and documentation
Ensure retention of all legislative checks and requirements relevant to the CPC operator legislation
Maintain accurate records
Manage and maintain contact and communications with internal and external “client/customers” to achieve, as applicable, best value and satisfaction.
Set an example for the organisation as a whole of commitment, business process and activities, work ethics and personal character
Responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet budgetary controls. Adhere to all companies policies and procedures interact and co-operate with all members of the organisation, its suppliers and customers.
You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Line Manager. You must contribute towards the smooth running of the companies operations at your allocated site/location.
Hours Your usual hours will be from 9am to 5.30pm. However, you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the client and their targets particularly at the clients peak trading times and other organised functions, i.e. events/festivals etc.

Equipment
You are responsible for the equipment provided to you for use in your job role. This means you must ensure that equipment is used in accordance with training provided, the entire organisation’s policies and procedures and the law and using, where applicable any safety equipment or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
Essential abilities/Competencies of this job role
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Logistics & Transport
Manager role or equivalent
Preferred
Minimum of Level 3 CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in National Road Haulage for Transport Managers
Thorough understanding of volume-led warehouse and transport/distribution operations, the requirements and dynamics
The ability to demonstrate proficient use of relevant software including, but not restricted to, Microsoft Excel/Word etc
.Ability in transport and warehouse management and customer/supplier relationship management
High degree of integrity and honesty in all dealings
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative as well as part of a wider team
Full UK driving licence
You need to have and maintain (with regular training and updates as necessary) the knowledge, technical skills and qualifications that are necessary to perform your job role to comply with the requirements of their clients and any applicable rules, regulations, (particularly of any professional body) and with any law which applies to your job role.
Special Working Conditions
You may be expected to work in accordance with companies overtime policies and the nature of the role may also require you from time to time to travel outside that area as the job role requires
