ZOLDER HOSTS ROUND 6 FOR THE APOLLO TYRES DIGITAL TRUCK

The 2020 ETRC DIGITAL RACING CHALLENGE moves to Belgium and the Zolder Circuit for the Sixth Round of the digital racing championship, increasing it’s fan base as the series progresses.

Shane Brereton recorded a points finish in the first race of the 2020 ETRC DIGITAL RACING CHALLENGE at Most a fortnight ago, but server issues resulted in the second race being red flagged with the Apollo Tyres Tor Truck Racing MAN riding high in fifth spot.

Unfortunately a problem linking the server from the Somerset base meant the Apollo Tyres Tor Truck Racing MAN was unable to take the restart, a disappointing end to what promised to be an exciting race.

The Apollo Tyres Tor Truck Racing team driver, gave his thoughts to FLEET SPEAK, reflecting on a mixed experience at Most and looking ahead to the Zolder Round this Sunday 19th July.

‘I felt we deserved more out of the first race at Most, but again we were unlucky to have been caught out in a first lap incident when Teo Calvet spun directly in front of me and a collision was unavoidable. Race two was going well, up to fifth on the first lap and looking to get up to third when race control halted the action and we then encountered problems linking to the official race server which was a disappointing end for us all’.

‘The Zolder circuit is a tight track, some slow speed chicanes and some high speed straights, it is a really nice circuit to drive, but as ever, keeping out of trouble will be the main focus for the Apollo Tyres Tor Truck Racing MAN and hopefully we will be mixing it with the front runners’.

The 2020 ETRC DIGITAL RACING CHALLENGE Championship leader Norbert Kiss extended his advantage over the opposition to record a double victory at Most taking his tally of race wins to nine out of the ten races, Sascha Lens and Teo Calvet have recorded podium finishes to keep the pressure on the Hungarian driver and will be looking to improve this weekend.

The races are shown live on Sunday 19th  July, Qualifying is at 17.30 CET with the digital races set for 18.00 CET and 1900 CET so set your clocks and join us at FLEET SPEAK to view the RACES CLICK HERE.
